TESTIMONIAL

I have attended the Virginia Engineers Conference for the last three years, and have chosen to participate in the all day Project Management Seminar. Each year the content of the sessions has been varied and addresses a different aspect of the subject. I find the VEC to be an especially cost and time effective way to obtain the Professional Development Hour credits needed for maintaining my license, as well as a great way to learn valuable skills and share best practices.  I also find value in the interaction with other Virginia Professional Engineers that I might not otherwise meet in the course of my work.--Neal T. Wright, PE, PMP, F.SAME, Dewberry

We are going GREEN in 2010!

All seminar handouts will be posted online for download by registered attendees.

This educational conference is an annual statewide event that is directed towards all engineers and principals of engineering firms in the state of Virginia.  It is jointly sponsored by the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia (ACEC/Virginia). Associate sponsors for 2010 include ASCE/VA Section and the Richmond and Hampton Roads Chapters of ASHRAE.

The tracks include professional, technical and business on both days; structural on Wednesday; civil and mechanical on Thursday.  We are continuing with the all day Project Management seminar on Wednesday with another new instructor who will teach this course.  You can sign up for seminars in one track or mix them up - the choice is yours.

You can register for one-day or for both days. Early registration with reduced rates will end August 9 at 5:00 p.m.  Members pay $250/1 day and $400/2 days; non-members pay $350/1day and $600/2 days. All rates increase by $100 after August 9.

A total of 12 professional development hours (PDH) may be earned by attending the entire conference or 6 in one day. Please keep in mind that individual State Boards regulating the practice of engineering have final authority regarding approval of PDHs.

If you would like to be a sponsor or an exhibitor this year, please review the tabs above for more information or contact Leigh Dicks, CAE, VSPE Executive Director, LeighDicks@VSPE.org, 804-364-0505.
