Brief Synopsis of Seminar: Presentation of Busch Gardens newest roller coaster to be opened in 2012, from concept, to design, to construction. The program will consist of how it is determined what kind of ride it will be, the planning concept, design of the coaster, design of the foundations, and implementation of construction. The challenges of Busch Gardens newest coaster started by decommissioning and removing the old roller coaster to make room for the new coaster. Other challenges consisted of removing former foundations from within the footprint of the new coaster, large ravines, significant fill depths, multiple foundation configurations consisting of shallow foundations, combined drilled shaft and driven pile foundation systems, and utilizing existing driven pile foundation systems. IMPORTANT: In order to participate in this session, you (1) must register prior to 8:00 a.m. on September 7; and, (2) provide your own transportation to the park. We will meet in the employee parking lot at Busch Gardens. A map to the parking area will be included in the registration packets of those who registered by the deadline for this session.
