Resume: Willcox Dunn represents architects, engineers, and construction managers in a variety of design and construction-related disputes and contract negotiations.  Mr. Dunn received his B. Arch. (with highest honors) from Pratt Institute, and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.  Prior to starting a second career in law, Mr. Dunn spent thirteen years as a designer, project manager and historic preservation specialist in Virginia and New York.  Mr. Dunn regularly speaks and writes on design and construction law topics, and serves on the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee and the ConsensusDOCS Content Advisory Committee.  He also is a member of the Construction Management Association of America’s Board of Directors and serves as Chair of its Legal Counsel Committee.  Mr. Dunn has been recognized as one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine.

Matt Gough is a vice president and an equity partner of Ames & Gough, and is located in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.  Matt provides service to a group of mid-size and large design-firm clients, as well as managing Ames & Gough’s contractors program.  He also conducts risk management seminars for clients and industry trade associations. Matt began his career with Ames & Gough in 2001 in the firm’s Boston office.  He is a 1998 graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Mike Heatwole is a senior vice president and an equity partner of Ames & Gough, and is located in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.  Mike focuses on serving the risk management and insurance needs of Ames & Gough’s larger, mid-Atlantic region design firms.  Mike is particularly well-versed in contract and policy language issues and is often asked by clients to lead internal risk management seminars.  Mike joined Ames & Gough in 1995.  Mike holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and is a 1981 graduate of the University of Maryland.
